You will all no doubt recognize this scene, Library Park. This picture shows the park coming from Nashua 112 years ago. Library Park was a gift from Dr. Hills and his mother in law, Mary Creutzborg.
From Kimball Webster’s book “History of Hudson NH” 1913 he writes: “A rough granite boulder is located near the south-west angle, and facing the south-west, on whose front is securely bolted a heavy circular bronze tablet bearing this inscription:
LIBRARY PARK
The gift of Mary Field Creutzborg. 1911
In the spring of 1912 the park was planted with ornamental shade trees and shrubbery, and otherwise beautified.”
There was once a house that occupied this piece of land, stay tuned for that story! Photo from the History of Hudson NH, Webster, 1913.
